Black History Month in UPEI
Black History Month is a time to recognize, celebrate, and reflect on the histories, cultures, and contributions of Black communities past and present. Across campus this month, students, staff, and faculty come together through a series of events that highlight Black excellence, culture, and community. From moments of reflection to shared meals and professional conversations, these events create spaces for learning, connection, and celebration during Black History Month at UPEI. Here are some of the events from the first week of BHM.
Flavours of Black History Month: Students line up for free food during Flavours of Black History Month on Feb. 2 at McMillan Hall in the W.A. Murphy Centre, celebrating Black culture through shared meals and community.

Black Excellence Professional Showcase
Attendees engage with speakers at the Black Excellence Professional Showcase, hosted by the African Students’ Association on Feb. 5 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., highlighting professionals and entrepreneurship.
