Hockey Day on Prince Edward Island was announced for January 9th, 2016. This is the second time that UPEI will collaborate with the Charlottetown Islanders to hold a two-game event to raise money for minor hockey teams across the Island. The Islanders will play against Rimouski Oceanic, defenders of the Presidents Cup, at 3pm, while the Panthers will play against the Dalhousie Tigers at 7pm.

This week’s Subway Athletes of the Week were Kelsie Collier and Lorenzo Parker, for Women’s Soccer and Men’s Basketball respectively. Collier has proven pivotal ever since she transitioned from striker position to fullback for the two previous weeks, as she played a huge role for both. Parker was selected as the tournament All-Star at the Dalhousie touranment last weekend, having earned 79 points and 22 rebounds overall.

The UPEI Rugby Alumni Day was held. Former players of both Men’s and Women’s Rugby teams were invited to watch a World Cup Rugby game at the Wave, followed by watching the UPEI Women’s Rugby team play against Acadia, and a special Men’s Rugby Alumni match. A dinner and awards ceremony were held afterwards at the Factory.
