Alyssa Ferguson and Harminder Singh were named UPEI Panther Subway Athletes of the Week. Alyssa had played a great weekend in Field Hockey at a tournament that took place at St. FX, while Harminder scored half of the Men’s Soccer team’s goals over St. FX. Additionally, the two athletes were invited to speak on Hot 105.5 in regard to their accomplishment. Link

Some UPEI Panther athletes worked together with the PEI Literacy Alliance to support the Raise a Reader initiative. They successfully raised $16,629.20 to go towards funding tutoring programs. Present were local celebrities Ray Murphy and Vince Mulligan. Link

Kelsie Collier and Danae Iatrou, UPEI Student Athletes, helped to promote a “Lets Kick Cancer†charity soccer game. Donations were collected through baked good and T-Shirt sales, and will go on to support the Women’s Basketball team’s “Shoot for a Cure.†Both events contribute to breast cancer research. Link Link
