Under the supervision of the UPEI Writing Center, the Arts Review has opened the call for submissions for the 2019-2020 academic year! This year we are excited to be launching our ninth volume and continue the legacy of excellence that prior volumes have exhibited. From student editors to student contributors, the Arts Review offers a unique space for student voices to be celebrated and student work to be recognized.

The Arts Review never has a predetermined theme. Instead, the theme for each volume is structured around the main concerns of the submissions. This means that all submissions are fair game. Whether you’ve written a research paper for Molecular Biology, a fan-fic about Jane Austen, a poem about Climate Change, or a piece of your memoir, we would love to read it! We accept submissions from any genre. This includes scientific papers, short stories, non-fiction, scripts, speeches, blog posts, comics, and any other collection of words you create; multiple submissions are allowed (and encouraged). The Arts Review is also a place for student artwork. Send us your photography, doodles, drawings and digital art.

Our mission is to be a canvas for every student to celebrate their work, regardless of faculty, year of study, or background. We would love to work alongside you to polish and publish your work, as you obtain a professional publication credit as a student.

If you are interested in submitting, please email your submission(s) to the editorial board at artsreview@upei.ca. Please be sure to include a 200 word abstract with your written submissions; abstracts for artwork is not required. Be sure to check out our Facebook page (UPEI Arts Review) for more details. The deadline for all submissions is December 20, 2019.
