As today is Election Day today, and people will soon be heading to the polls for the last time this election, we at the Cadre have decided to post some last-minute interviews with the candidates for Charlottetown. First up is the Liberal incumbent Sean Casey, followed by Becka Viau for the Greens and Joe Byrne for the NDP.  We attempted to also get an interview with the Conservative candidate Ron MacMillan, but unfortunately were unsuccessful.
A lawyer by trade, Sean Casey also served as President for the Greater Charlottetown Area Chamber of Commerce before being elected to Parliament in the 2011 election; one of only two new Liberal MPs elected in that election. Since then, Casey has spent a significant amount of energy serving as the Justice Critic in Trudeau’s shadow cabinet. Among several issues addressed during our interview, The Cadre asked Casey about his vote for the controversial Bill C-51, what the most important issue facing students is, the oilsands, and to explain why the Liberals are really the party for change.
